Meet the Team

    Owner/ Trainer

Most of my childhood involved small animals and ruminants which only built the desire to own a true companion; a dog. With the growing desire for a dog came the research to understand breeds, understand training, and understand the mind of a dog. With all of this research came an overwhelming amount of information that led me down the rabbit hole of beginning my dog journey that may never end.

Information is the key to everything, but without the help to properly decipher and break down the words, you're left lost and confused. That's where I come in!

My desire to help owners understand why their dog does what they do, how to deal with behaviors, and how to set them up for success. After all, dogs will make their own decisions unless you show them the decision you want them to make! They don't know what our definition of "good" is unless we show them and make it our expectation!

Growing up we always had animals around - dogs, cats, goats, rabbits, etc. so I've always had a passion for owning and caring for them. Dogs in particular have always held a special place in my heart as I was always amazed by their intelligence and loved the joy and companionship they brought to my life. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in biology with the idea that it would be amazing to work with animals in some capacity but was never sure of the path I should take until recently. I adopted my dog Lenny 4 years ago, and the first few years were more stressful than enjoyable a lot of the time. He pulled on the leash, was terribly reactive, and had severe separation anxiety that resulted in destructive behaviors. After working with Carissa and figuring out how to fix these issues, our lives have improved dramatically and are so much more enjoyable now. He is truly the dog that I always wanted and knew he could be. Now that I've witnessed first hand the difference this has made for us, I want to help make the same thing possible for others so that the dogs are able to have more freedom and their people can enjoy all the love and happiness they bring us - without the stress of those unwanted, potentially dangerous or destructive behaviors. I'm excited to continue this journey and keep learning so that I can make that a reality.
